About Us

Gary Bates has been instructing since 1991. Since then, hundreds of people have earned their licence thanks to our patience, skill and experience and our pupils’ perseverance.

And things have changed a lot since 1991. Now, the theory test is all done on computer – and we make sure that you are up to speed with the 50 questions.

We also ensure that you are perceptive enough to cope with the hazard perception test. This is a collection of videos, where you must identify the hazards.

On the road, we provide you with a new Renault Clio Iconic TCE, and a patient, fully qualified instructor. Training is always on a one-to-one basis.

We know that learning to drive can be a daunting prospect. After getting into the driving seat for the first time, you must learn co-ordination and road sense. You must put an entire range of skills together to become the finished article. If you would like to become even better than the finished article after passing your test, we take part in the Pass Plus scheme which can give you cheaper car insurance.
